Hi,

Trying to get from here to my home network (204.107.200.x) I seem to only get about 20KB/s even though I know the network there is significantly better than that. Looking at an MTR trace the problem looks like the link from 86.43.238.9 to res1-avici1-g1-15-1.gnaps.net is overloaded:

Whereas if I try to get to MIT I get a much better routing via cogent:

Is there some way we can control this routing or perhaps check on that link? It's been this way since I arrived on Saturday evening, and doesn't seem to change at all throughout the day.

Thanks!

#24 pending Hotel NAT keeps changing my outward IP Address andrew.lange@… Derek Atkins <warlord@…>
Description

I can't successfully use WEBMAIL because every time I make an HTTP connection the outbound-visible IP Address changes. In the past five minutes I've had webmail report an incoming IP address of 130.129.65.100, 130.129.65.248, and 130.129.65.10. Unfortunately webmail logs me out every time the IP address changes, and every connection is getting a new IP address. This makes webmail effectively useless. (webmail: https://webmail.mit.edu/ )

Is there any chance of fixing the Hotel NAT to provide more stable IP bindings?

Thanks,

-derek
