#1161 worksforme "ietf-hotel" WiFi network performing poorly (from Swissotel room 4058) Clemens Schrimpe finlayson@…
Description
To date, the “ietf-hotel” WiFi network has been performing poorly - with frequent bursts of high packet loss (at least, as seen from Swissotel room 4058).

(Sometimes the “Swissotel” network performs better; sometimes not.)

Description
Hi,

I'm on 6th floor, with full wifi signal. Yesterday evening I became IPV6
only -- got no IPv4 address by DHCP. As you can imagine, this severly
limited my content consumption :-)

This morning I did get an address, but the connection was still useless:
...
331 packets transmitted, 153 packets received, 53.8% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 14.091/423.431/4074.842/714.570 ms

Don't know why that is or what can be done about it.

I wrote a ticket about it on Sunday already, but got no answer so far (not
even an autogenerated one)

Cheers,
Robert
#632 worksforme 13" rMBP 2013 wifi problems chelliot@… swmike@…
Description

I have a Macbook pro Retina from april 2013 (OSX 10.8 with all updates) and I am attending IETF87. Whenever I sleep the macbook and wake it up again, it won't connect to the wifi network. I have to turn off wifi, go into settings, delete the wifi SSID in advanced settings, turn radio on again, wait a couple of minutes, ten it figures out there is no network to connect to and stops trying, then I can select the ietf-a.1x wifi, enter ietf/ietf and it connects immediately. I have this problem in all places I have tried it, the Potsdam 1 and Belevue.

I have identical problem with the "event" SSID at the Pullman hotel, same workaround to get it running again. Is this a known problem?
