#1026 closed defect (fixed)

Ubuntu 14.04 can't connect to ietf-nat64 due to O bit

Reported by: lorenzo@… Owned by: Clemens Schrimpe
Priority: minor Milestone: ietf-097
Component: network Keywords: ietf-nat64 ipv6
Cc: My Current Location:
My MAC Address: My OS: Ubuntu 14.04

My machine running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (using Networkmanager) can't connect to the ietf-nat64 SSID.

The observed behaviour is that layer 2 comes up and IPv6 autoconfiguration works (gets IPv6 addresses and DNS), but then NetworkManager? keeps sending stateless DHCPv6 requests that go unanswered until it times out and disconnects.

I think this is because the RA sets the O bit in the prefix information option to 1, but the network doesn't actually have a DHCPv6 server.

I haven't been able to find out how to get NetworkManager? not to wait for DHCPv6 to complete.

If this network doesn't have a DHCPv6 server, can we set the O bit in the PIO in the RA to 0?
