NO DHCP IPv4 address on the wired terminal room switch

Reported by: otroan@… Owned by: sra@…
Priority: tbd Milestone: ietf-100
Component: dns Keywords: dhcp

My MAC Address: 40:6c:8f:58:8b:fd My OS: OSX

Cannot get any IPv4 address from DHCP on the wired 3560 in Terminal room 1.
IPv6 works fine.

(Hopefully I didn't mess anything up by plugging in a few extra switches and APs. ;-))

DHCP server logs show nothing for that MAC address.

Reporter did say was fiddling with the switch, might have ended up on a port which is configured in some surprising way (different VLAN, routed to Mars, DHCP relay configured for Alpha Centauri, ...).

Not sure how much of wired infrastructure we have live yet.

I see no useful action we can take on this. Under the circumstances, I'm going to write it off to "something weird happened when user plugged into an unexpected switch port".

If this reoccurs, please do report it (reopen this ticket or a new one, as seems appropriate).

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
