Description

I’m finding it impossible to get connected to the ietf-hotel network on level 14 of the east wing. Anything you could do would be greatly appreciated.

Can you please elaborate a little on this? Which room are you in? Do you see the SSID "ietf-hotel" at all?
Can you associate with it and you just do not get IP addresses? Do you get addresses assigned and they do not work for you?

Thanks,

Clemens

Leif,

It's not certain we can do anything to help on this, but if you could get us a bit more data, we can try! As Clemens asked, could you provide your room number, if you see the ietf-hotel SSID, and whether you get an address? Also, I'd ask if you tried using "hhonors" (with the code ietflondon) and had any different of an experience?

Thanks!

1408, I see (30/70) ietf-hotel and get about 10kbit/s best case when I
get connected. Often I can't and it seems to be because I can't get an
address or can trget responses from the resolver (which my OS interprets
as a connection failure)

Good morning Leif -

it appears that you do get "a connection", albeit a very very bad one. I am afraid there seems nothing we can do about it from the NOC.
We completely rely on the Hotel's infrastructure in your area and it is what it is - unfortunately. We cannot make the Hotel deploy more APs - not in the two days left.

I am really sorry.

Clemens

Hej Leif -

I just took the liberty to go up to the 14th floor and see if "your" AP was ok and -lo and behold- my speedtest got me a solid 30/30 Mbit/s right outside your door (1408), so the infrastructure seems to work in general. I suggest you try again in different spots in your room (desk vs. bed vs. bathroom) to see if this yields any better results for you.

Hälsningar -

Clemens
