meetecho audio issue

Description

I noticed that when using Chrome to access Meetecho, the audio doesn’t have any option to let me to choose.

When I use Meetcho on Window Internet Explorer, when I talk, I can’t hear the room. Also the audio can only last a few seconds, making it not possible to give presentation.

I noticed that If I “send audio”, I can’t hear the room. If I can hear the room, then I can’t talk

HI Linda,

It may be an OS system preferences setting.

I recommend reviewing the documentation here for details:

If you are already sending audio, then you can stop by pressing the mic with the hand.

If you are not sending audio, then you are not sending audio. ;-)

IETF 108 Online Session Working Group Chairs,

The IETF 108 Online meeting starts shortly.

As you know, we are using Meetecho as the collaboration platform for all scheduled the entire online meeting sessions, for the very first time. We are excited about this, and we do not anticipate any issues. However, in case we encounter severe outages or connectivity issues, we have pre-configured Webex meeting rooms for all sessions as back-ups.

We will be monitoring all meeting sessions and if we determine that a Meetecho outage is preventing a session from taking place, the Secretariat will send WebEx host keys to the affected session chairs, and we will distribute the WebEx login information via email to the entire community. We will keep the entire community updated via email if an outage persists across multiple sessions, necessitating the further use of the back-up Webex meeting rooms.

Also, a reminder that Meetecho testing sessions are available 30 minutes before the start of sessions through 30 minutes after sessions each day at:

Hi Linda, I guess you're using Windows 10.

Starting from Edge, my guess is that you're using the old version of the browser that has been discontinued by Microsoft and has known issues. The current version of Edge is a fork of Chromium and should work fine.

Re Chrome issue, I suspect this has to do with the Win 10 privacy settings. Can you please check your privacy settings and make sure Chrome is listed among the external Desktop applications that have access to your microphone/camera?

Quoting Microsoft support:
Starting with Windows 10 version 1903, an additional setting is available on camera and microphone settings pages that provides limited control over desktop apps that access your camera and microphone using supported methods. You can find this setting under the Allow desktop apps to access your camera or Allow desktop apps to access your microphone sections. Here you will find the list of desktop apps that Windows has detected which have interacted with the camera or microphone. Turning the setting on or off will impact all apps listed under this setting.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
