Description

Throughout the meeting, I've been seeing occasional deassociations
from the wireless. They're very short-lived, and it may the that the
only reason I'm noticing them is that NetworkManager (on Fedora) is
not automatically restarting my OpenVPN sessions when they happen.

I've noticed them mostly from the hotel net, with varying intervals.
They can happen when I'm relatively idle (e.g. I'm asleep, but left
the machine on) or when there's active traffic (e.g. using VoIP).

This report is mostly FYI; I do not need action taken on it.

Here are some syslog snippets, annotated, timestamps in US EST.
mac addr 00:1C:BF:68:32:46, typically getting 130.129.76.69 in the
hotel.

I was asleep; this is the last relevant log message before I woke:
Nov 12 14:40:55 localhost NetworkManager[1473]: <info> (wlan0): roamed
from BSSID 00:21:1B:66:F8:40 (ietf-hotel.1x) to 00:21:1B:66:F8:40
(ietf-hotel.1x)

I wake up; sart OpenVPN:
Nov 12 15:56:38 localhost NetworkManager[1473]: <info> Starting VPN
service 'openvpn'...

Six minutes later, things break:
Nov 12 16:02:50 localhost vmnetBridge: Removing interface wlan0
index:3
Nov 12 16:02:50 localhost vmnetBridge: Stopped bridge wlan0 to virtual
network 0.
Nov 12 16:02:50 localhost NetworkManager[1473]: <info> (wlan0):
supplicant connection state: completed -> disconnected
Nov 12 16:02:50 localhost NetworkManager[1473]: <info> (wlan0):
supplicant connection state: disconnected -> scanning
Nov 12 16:02:52 localhost NetworkManager[1473]: <info> (wlan0):
supplicant connection state: scanning -> associating
Nov 12 16:02:55 localhost NetworkManager[1473]: <info> (wlan0): roamed
from BSSID 00:21:1B:66:F8:40 (ietf-hotel.1x) to (none) ((none))
(and so on)

I'm back up in 20-30 seconds, including one of these:
Nov 12 16:03:10 localhost NetworkManager[1473]: <info> (wlan0):
roamed from BSSID 00:21:1B:66:F1:60 (ietf-hotel.1x) to 00:21:1B:66:68:30 (ietf-hotel.1x)

28 minutes later, it fails again:
Nov 12 16:31:26 localhost NetworkManager[1473]: <info> (wlan0):
supplicant connection state: completed -> disconnected
...
Nov 12 16:31:31 localhost NetworkManager[1473]: <info> (wlan0): roamed
from BSSID 00:21:1B:66:68:30 (ietf-hotel.1x) to (none) ((none))
...
Nov 12 16:32:08 localhost NetworkManager[1473]: <info> (wlan0): roamed
from BSSID 00:1F:6D:B8:B6:90 (ietf-hotel.1x) to 00:21:1B:66:68:30
(ietf-hotel.1x)
