Description

Just to let you know, the IETF-hotel network on the 7th floor (tower) has not been working very well since yesterday. Most page loads in my browser are failing. Email works only occasionally.

Thanks,

Phil

FYI… in room 717, the network is still pretty much non-functional. Only getting 2bars of 5 on os x of wifi.

Phil,
This is an issue with the coverage of the hotel APs. Have you brought this issue up with the hotel tech support? Alternatively, have you tried the wired ethernet in your room?

I did on Sunday, they said ietf-hotel was not their issue. Confused staff maybe?

No ethernet in my room that I have been able to find.

Phil,
Yes, it sounds like the hotel staff you spoke with is confused on this point. The ietf-hotel SSID is being broadcast on the hotel's access points. The issue you are experiencing is associated with the wireless coverage being provided by the hotel's access points.

I put in a call and was connected to BT support. They have taken note of the problem and will refer to someone on site. Apparently there are others with reception issues.

Thanks,

Phil
