Description
Dear NOC, Since yesterday I'm experiencing a kind of weird problem. With my laptop, using Linux (Debian testing, linux-3.16, iwlwifi driver), I have a very poor (mostly unusable) connectivity. I don't have this kind of problem connecting to other networks (e.g., the hotel network at DoubleTree). I've used the same hardware in previous meetings, so I'm wandering if it has to do with the APs that seem to be different from previous meetings. My MAC address is 24:77:03:bb:e7:f8 The issues I have is that I have a very poor connection to the first IP hop, with no connectivity or huge RTTs (several seconds). Some times I get decent connectivity but just for a short period of time. If helpful, I can pass by the NOC room so we can do some tests. Thanks! Carlos

Hi Carlos,
Are you experiencing these problems in all locations? All SSIDs?
Could you bring your laptop to the NOC (Nautilus lounge) so that we can take a look at it? Thanks!

Turns out that the ticketing system is handling replies different now then it was before. So sorry for the radio silence. Please click the link to check the ticket directly to see the current notes.

Carlos,
There's a known issue with some laptop chipsets and the new Access Points. We've deployed a "vanilla" SSID that acts as a workaround called "ietf-2.4only". Do you see the same behavior if you try that?

Hi Jim, Yes, I saw the message sent to the 91attendees ML and with the vanilla SSID everything works perfect (as usual on IETF meetings). Thanks! Thanks Carlos. We're continuing to work on that issue, but I'll close out this ticket. We hope to have new code from Cisco before the next meeting.
