#875 closed defect (fixed)

Unable to connect to networks

Reported by: Michael.Jones@… Owned by: chelliot@…

Description

My HP Elite Book laptop can see the IETF networks ietf, ietf-a, and others but while it appears that I can connect, I end up with the network status "No Internet access". I'm running Windows 7.

I tried to connect many times during appaswg in Coral 2 this morning, from the nomcom office at lunch, and now during the iamaplan meeting in Coral 3.

I have rebooted and and power cycled, but never get full connectivity.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Mike -

Can you try associating to ietf-2.4only and report your results?

Thanks -

Mike,

I believe that it is likely you have an intel centrino wireless card and are hitting an issue we've been debugging since this morning. We have a workaround. See the mail I sent to 91attendees or the equivalent documentation on the issue: https://tickets.meeting.ietf.org/wiki/CentrinoIssue for more information.

If this information does not apply to you, please come by the help desk in the terminal room so we can debug your issue further.

Thanks!
Chris.

Mike,

Have you had further issues, or has the "ietf-2.4only" resolved the issue for you?

Please let us know.

The 2.4only network has solved the problem for me.

Mike,

Thanks. If you have a few minutes, come by the NOC (Nautilus) and look for Chris Elliott. He's heading our investigation with Cisco into this issue. He may have a few more experiments that might help them isolate and resolve the issue.

That said, I'm going to resolve this ticket as the initial issue has been worked around.
