Description
Last night, On the IETF-hotel SSID, I am not getting DHCPv4, but am getting DHCPv6. en0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 ether b8:e8:56:30:c6:1c inet6 fe80::bae8:56ff:fe30:c61c%en0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x4 inet6 2001:67c:370:136:bae8:56ff:fe30:c61c prefixlen 64 autoconf inet6 2001:67c:370:136:1cb7:574e:f4cc:f4cd prefixlen 64 autoconf temporary inet 169.254.143.143 netmask 0xffff0000 broadcast 169.254.255.255 nd6 options=1<PERFORMNUD> media: autoselect status: active On the wired port (room 5097), I am not getting either DHCPv4 or v6, but link seems to be active (tried a different cable): en3: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 options=4<VLAN_MTU> ether f4:f9:51:f2:c1:a0 inet6 fe80::f6f9:51ff:fef2:c1a0%en3 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0xa inet 169.254.69.109 netmask 0xffff0000 broadcast 169.254.255.255 nd6 options=1<PERFORMNUD> media: autoselect (100baseTX <full-duplex>) status: active This morning, the phone has IPv4 and IPv6, but the mac refused to connect to either the ietf or hilton network "could not connect" the first few times I tried. Is this an IETF issue or a Hilton issue? Relevant OS: Mac 10.9.5, though my android 5.0.1 phone appears to be doing the same thing (only getting a v6 address) Thanks, Wes Wesley George Time Warner Cable Core Network Engineering & Architecture office: 703-561-2540 | mobile: 703-864-4902 Anything below this line has been added by my company’s mail server, I have no control over it. ----------- ________________________________ This E-mail and any of its attachments may contain Time Warner Cable proprietary information, which is privileged, confidential, or subject to copyright belonging to Time Warner Cable. Wesley,
We are aware of the Wireless issues within the Hotel Room space, and are working with the Hotel IT department to find a resolution to their spotty coverage. I'll add your room number to the list of locations affected by this problem.
As for your wired connection, we were given yea another new list of VLANs from the hotel to integrate into our solution. I believe this integration is complete. You should find that you have DHCP and connectivity our from your wired room access now.
