#966 closed defect (duplicate)

(new and continued) issues on ietf-hotel

Reported by: robert@… Owned by: creilly@…

Description

Hi,

I'm on 6th floor, with full wifi signal. Yesterday evening I became IPV6
only -- got no IPv4 address by DHCP. As you can imagine, this severly
limited my content consumption :-)

This morning I did get an address, but the connection was still useless:
...
331 packets transmitted, 153 packets received, 53.8% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 14.091/423.431/4074.842/714.570 ms

Don't know why that is or what can be done about it.

I wrote a ticket about it on Sunday already, but got no answer so far (not
even an autogenerated one)

Cheers,
Robert

Robert,

Sorry you are seeing some troubles, last night we did have an issue with our DHCP servers for a short window of time. The issue has been resolved, and you should be able to get IPv4 address.

As for the performance of the network, we are currently working with the Hotel IT department to resolve some of the coverage issues we are seeing on their infrastructure.

I'll be sending out an email to all Attendees notifying them of the issues we are facing as well as the steps we are taking to remedy it. I will keep you in the loop via this ticket.

We did not find a ticket from you earlier in the system, if you did not get an auto-generated reply most likely the ticket didn't take.

Hi,

The previous ticket is/was https://tickets.meeting.ietf.org/ticket/932 --
seems like Lucy is the owner now so I don't get any answers from you, she
does :-)

Cheers,
Robert
